Porsche is recalling 1,851 of its vehicles. The NHTSA report said “the center lock wheel bolt may fracture and cause the wheel to detach.”
The NHTSA report said that the wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control which can increase the risk of a crash.
Porsche is encouraging its owners to not drive the recalled vehicle models until they have been repaired. To fix the issue, dealers will check the center lock wheel fastening system and replace any incorrectly manufactured parts if necessary. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Dec. 27. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche’s number for this recall is ARC4.
